OPPO Find x4 Pro with Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 this 2022
When Qualcomm unveiled its new flagship chipset, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1, numerous firms rushed to declare their support for the chip, declaring that their flagship will be powered by it. Oppo was one of these companies, and it also announced on Weibo when the Find X4 Pro would be available: “the first quarter of 2022.”
This is the first time we’ve heard anything about the new Find X series from an official source. Last Wednesday, a leak revealed that the Find X4 Pro would be a minor increase over the already excellent Find X3 Pro, with faster charging (80W vs. 65W) and the anticipated new Snapdragon processor.
The back cameras are expected to stay 50 MP + 50 MP + 13 MP telephoto, albeit with new sensors, and the screen will likely remain 6.7″ OLED with 1440p resolution and adaptive high refresh rate.
The Find X2 Pro and Find X3 Pro were both released in March, so it’s safe to assume the Find X4 Pro will be released in the same timeframe. The bigger concern is how quickly Oppo would release the phone outside of China; before, a global launch took the business between 4 and 12 weeks to plan.
How much will it cost?
At the time of writing, we don’t have any information on the price of the Oppo Find X4 Pro (or the normal model), so we’ll have to rely on prior entries for information. Here’s how the last two of generations have stacked up, albeit prices in the United States are simply estimates because Oppo doesn’t sell directly there:
- £1,099/€1,149/US$1,465 Oppo Find X3 Pro
- £1,099/€1,149/US$1,465 Oppo Find X2 Pro
As you can see, they are flagship smartphones with flagship prices to match. They’re still less expensive than their closest competitors, such as the Samsung S21 Ultra, which costs £1,149/€1,249/US$1,299.99 (depending on its RRP), but it’s still a significant sum for a premium device.
If Oppo keeps the same pricing as past versions, you’ll have to save £1,099/€1,149/US$1,465 if you want to buy one. However, because to a global chip shortage and pandemic-related supply chain constraints, there is a chance of a modest increase, which will be passed on to the customer.
What to expect in the OPPO Find X4 Pro?
Obviously, the new Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset will be the most significant new inclusion, as we’ve already mentioned. This is a rebranding of Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 800-series CPUs, which have been serving the high-end smartphone market for years.
