Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra Rumored to Feature a Titanium Frame
Have your heard about Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra titanium frame? A new rumor from South Korea reaffirms previous speculations that Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy S24 Ultra will sport a titanium frame, following in the footsteps of the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max. Unnamed sources claim that the S24 Ultra will be the first Samsung smartphone to feature a titanium outer frame, and based on its reception, the company may consider extending it to other models.
Earlier in October, a contradicting rumor suggested that the Galaxy S24, S24+, and S24 Ultra would all boast titanium frames. However, the latest information suggests that only the Ultra model will have this feature. Today’s report also states that Samsung’s current aluminum frames cost under $20, and the key factor for adopting titanium on a larger scale will depend on production yields. If low yields lead to a price increase of up to four or five times, Samsung may find this cost-prohibitive.
Samsung aims to initially produce 15 million titanium frames, coinciding with the number of Galaxy S23 Ultra units shipped this year, and indicating that the S24 Ultra is the intended recipient. The report concludes by mentioning that the S24 Ultra will have a flat screen, with the outer frame made of titanium and the inner frame remaining aluminum, similar to the aforementioned iPhones.
