Starbucks and Grab have announced an integrated relationship.
Starbucks recently announced an integrated relationship with Grab in Southeast Asia, which will provide customers a more seamless Starbucks experience. Aside from that, the opportunity to earn rewards by making Grab purchases.
As I have said, Starbucks will integrate Starbucks Points with the Grab platform for the first time in Southeast Asia. And then, it gives customers more possibilities to earn rewards on their Starbucks purchases. Starbucks Rewards members can link their accounts with GrabRewards to earn Stars and GrabRewards points on every GrabFood order. Therefore, customers will be able to sign up for a Starbucks Rewards membership through the Grab app in the future. In the second half of 2022, they will launch this new function in the Philippines, and to spread by 2024.
Grab’s increased alternatives and solutions will allow customers to receive a taste of Starbucks, including:
- Pay online and in-store: Customers will be able to pay for their orders in-store and in-app using their GrabPay e-wallets.
- GrabFood accepts online orders for pickup: Customers can skip the line and order their favorite food with GrabFood’s self-pickup option.
- GrabExpress instant delivery: GrabExpress may bring their favorite Starbucks food and beverages to their doorsteps faster than before.
- GrabGifts for social gifting: Customers can now purchase and send Starbucks gift cards to friends and family via Grab app.
In addition, they will also expand its food donation program in the Philippines, to new features and advantages. Finally, Grab drivers may now pick up food contributions from retailers and distribute them to organizations.
“Our partnership with Grab allows us to provide more options for customers to create a Starbucks Experience that is right for them, while also helping to deliver positive impact in the communities we serve through FoodShare program.”
— Erin Silvoy, vice president, product and marketing, Starbucks Asia Pacific.
